Hi Everyone,
A few changes overnight:
Dad's heart started fibulating again around 11:30pm. This morning around 5:30 it went into a rapid fibulation so they restarted some of the medicine to turn that around.
They are planning to do a bronchoscopy this morning which will hopefully lead to them taking him off the respirator today.
When he is awake he's more alert, was asking the nurses a lot of questions and pointing at all the various hoses and tubes wanting to know what they are and whats going on.
They've been feeding him through a line into his stomach which is good as the doctor said that will help his immune system improve compared to the IV line he had had solely before.
I'll let you know as things change
Thanks
Haverly

I just got pointed to this blog through a comment on facebook. I hope that things continue to focus for your dad and that he can make progress on what seems like a very difficult situation. I am sure that you have a ton of help, but as with the others, please let me know if you guys need anything. Dean will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hello Luv -
I hope that things continue on the up and up. Please give your dad's hand a squeeze from me...and hugs to you all over there.
Love you all,
Julia
for a guy who's had a fairly fragile body, he has one helluva constitution! It's daunting to read about all the things that have been done to him in such a short time, and he remains reslient, and strong....keep it up Dean!!!!!!!
Before long, the questions will turn in to direct orders to the staff, and Dean will be IN CHARGE again, as usual!!!!
Thanks for keeping us up to date. I know you are exhausted, and I'm praying for all of you to have strength and peace.
