Sunday Night

Hello again. Dad had another rough day today. There is still a blockage in his intestines which is preventing his bowel from working. Because his body is not processing waste, there is a fear of kidney failure so dad has been placed on a dialysis machine indefinitely.

They are going to try and get his bowel cleared tonight with medication but if that doesn´t work, they will have to perform a colonoscopy. The chance of his intestine bursting is a big concern.

This morning he was on the verge of cardiac arrest but luckily the doctors were on the floor doing rounds and were able to prevent it. He has a long way to go before he´s out of the woods but setbacks are to be expected. As Haverly said, dad´s phone is off and we are asking that visits be restricted until he´s a little more stable. I will be here overnight so Bill can get some rest. Mom is in town now after visiting her dad and Haverly is flying in tomorrow.

I will try and post another update with news throughout the night.
