Update #1

From Haverly:

Hi Everyone,

It's now 5am in Denver and my dad has his new lung and is out of surgery. Bill and my brother Frazier were at the hospital with him last night as he prepared to go into surgery. He was upbeat and ready to go even though we were surprised at how quickly the call came.

According to my brother everything went smoothly and he is now in recovery.

For the time being I will be the one updating this blog and as I have to get to Denver from Chicago there may be a delay in updates coming this way. Please bear with us, but we'll do our best to keep you up to date. Please feel free to leave comments and ask questions on this blog. We will do our best to respond and will also share them with my dad when he's coherent.

Thanks for your thoughts,
Haverly

Hi Dean,
This is WONDERFUL news! What an amazing way to start the new year. My heart filled with joy upon hearing of your successful transplant. I'm praying for your full and speedy recovery. Well, now that we've got that out of the way, I'll add a couple of additional stops to our whirlwind Chicago tour in anticipation of your impending visit. Put on some good running shoes, buddy, because we're gonna put that spiffy new lung to good use (lol!).
