Tempered Good News

Bill and I met with Dr. Lyu, today to review Dean's prognosis. First a funny story. A few years back there were a group of intern/residents who rented a house three or four doors down from Dean and Bill. In the front yard is a huge cherry tree. Dean promised the guys a cherry pie if he could pick fresh cherries. Dr. Lyu was one of the interns! Small world.

Dr. Lyu said, that he is optimistic that Dean will start getting better. It will be a very slow process. He predicts that in about six months Dean will be walking around the lake in City Park...or at least be pushed in a wheelchair. But no running.

That is enough to raise our hopes and reenergize us. Dean will probably be in ICU for a few more weeks. Then he will move to a regular room, possibly on the rehab floor. We continue to limit visitors in ICU to the immediate family. But your thoughts and prayers are an immense help. Thank you.

Songs of jubilation!!!! What great news to start the weekend. To add to the funny story I am sure it is the same cherry tree Dean and I picked from that gave us a wonderful cherry pie too. We look forward to many more memories with Bill and Dean. Our prayers continue for all of you. Take care. Love and xxoo
